The Goat
The Holy Monastery of Agios Gerasimos, patron saint of Kefalonia, is built at Omala near Mount Ainos. The saint’s relics are kept in a silver casket, and twice a year (16 August and 20 October) they are carried in procession. It is an important place of pilgrimage with impressive Byzantine architecture.
